After a long day of exploring all the town has to offer, dogs and their owners can retire to one of Half Moons Bay’s many pup-friendly inns and hotels featuring doggie beds, treats, goodie bags and more.

Fifty-four stylishly appointed rooms are packed with all the comforts of home. Including coffee makers, microwaves, refrigerators, cable televisions and high speed Internet access (a few even feature whirlpool baths). Several rooms specifically accommodate guests traveling with their dogs.  Added bonuses include complimentary continental breakfast, on-site conference facilities and a premier gym. Dogs 50 lbs and under are welcome and a non-refundable fee of $10 is charged per pet, per night. Pets should never be left unattended on the property.

Located along the coast, this comfortable Spanish-style, dog-friendly inn provides guests with a small welcome bag containing doggie treats and a brochure of pet-friendly places in the area. The inn has 27 large, tastefully decorated rooms with all of the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay including cable TV, microwaves, refrigerators, coffee makers and hair dryers. Some guestrooms have large whirlpool tubs. Complimentary continental breakfast is offered daily. Accommodations for dogs require a non-refundable $10-$15 fee per pet, per night. Advance notice is appreciated for guests who wish to bring their pets.

Located on Main Street in a gorgeous, newly-renovated 1932 Spanish Revival building, this cozy, 14-room boutique inn offers overnight accommodations for guests and their four-legged sidekicks. Accommodations include a plush dog bed for the room, a feeding dish and doggie treats. The inn also provides a complimentary dog treat at check-in, dog towels and waste bags. Guests will be treated to luxurious guestrooms complete with beautiful European furnishings, plush pillow top mattresses, Italian linens, marble baths, and complimentary wireless Internet and 27'' flat screen televisions. The champagne room is the one dog-friendly guestroom on the property, and pups who are lucky enough to stay here will receive their very own basket with a blanket, a towel, biscuits, plastic bags for clean up and a map of pet-friendly beaches.  After a serene walk along the beach, head back to the Champagne Room to enjoy the private balcony, fireplace, heated marble flooring and whirlpool bath. Special perks include complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres at night, as well as a gourmet breakfast served daily. The Champagne Room is $285 per night in addition to the $30 fee per pet, per night. A maximum of two dogs are permitted in each room.

The hotel features 261 luxurious guestrooms, a bluffside Jacuzzi and fireplace, world-class dining, two championship golf courses, tennis courts, coastal walking trails and accommodations for dogs 30 pounds and under. Guests can relax with their pets in the guesthouse, gazebo, front drive and stunning outdoor area surrounding the hotel. The hotel provides guests with a designated pet walk map for their convenience. A maximum of two dogs are permitted per room; a $125 non-refundable pet deposit is required per pet.

Housed in a 1905 building in downtown Half Moon Bay, this cozy bed and breakfast features 12 pet-friendly rooms. Each room is decorated with antiques and claw foot tubs. Guests and their four legged friends can enjoy the beautiful gardens, gazebo, and massive fire pit for evenings under the stars. There’s also a sauna, on-site deli with famed homemade bread, a classic saloon and complimentary breakfast that can be delivered to guestrooms upon request. A $50 non-refundable pet fee is required at the time of booking.

This serene hideaway set amongst a meadow of wildflowers and bordered by cypress trees is the perfect place for guests traveling with their pooches. The property boasts stylish rooms with luxurious fine linens, fireplaces, sitting areas with desks, private patios or decks and some with whirlpool baths. A gourmet breakfast buffet and wine and appetizers are complimentary for all guests. Only vaccinated dogs 40lbs and under are permitted. The inn offers a limited number of pet-friendly rooms and therefore requires that prior approval and reservations be made for pets. A maximum of two pets are permitted per room, and there is a non-refundable fee of $65. Service dogs are always welcomed at the inn.


The Inn at Mavericks

Opened in Fall 2009, the Inn at Mavericks features six spacious 500 square foot guestrooms, three of which are pet-friendly. The dog-friendly guestrooms provide easy access to a fenced in grassy area where they can play and relax. This inn includes all the amenities of a luxury hotel coupled with the intimate service of a small property. Guests will enjoy rooms with private verandas with harbor views, fireplaces, Tempurpedic beds and marble bathrooms outfitted with Kohler deep soaking tubs and separate rain showers. Half Moon Bay’s most historic inn, opened in 1859, features a comfortable Victorian-style parlor room and 20 guestrooms.
