Winterize Yourself at the Harbin, China Ice and Snow Festival By Kathy Chin Leong
Do something rare, exciting, and different this year by attending the Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin, northern China. Since 1963, this city has hosted this festival, which runs until February, featuring international ice carvers who are competing for prizes and prestige. The venue, Zhaolin Park, comes alive in the night as colored lights illuminate the frozen fairyland. Carvings are the size of multi-story buildings, and represent the best of this artistic craft.
